Welcome Spring! It’s been a long, cold winter, and we are excited to see the warm sunshine and beginnings of green in our area. As you plan your gardening season, visit the library and check out the seeds we have for you to check out and grow at home.
Thanks to funding from the Lumpkin Family Foundation, you can visit the library and borrow or checkout up to five packets of heirloom seeds that you can then grow at home in your own garden or container or at Effingham’s Community Garden, then enjoy the produce while saving a portion of the seeds for yourself for next year’s garden while returning some seeds to the library for us to share with others next year.
For more details, see our Your Guide to the Helen Matthes Seed Library or contact Johnna Schultz, Adult Services Manager.
Welcome 2014! Visit Helen Matthes Library this January and enjoy a Family Event – Story Stones, Read to Clyde and our Winter Reading Program for Adults. To find out more see our January 2014 Newsletter.
