Join us for a program about native pollinator gardening!

Erin Goldstein of Teutopolis will discuss how one can design and plant a native pollinator garden. Erin is also in the process of planting a native pollinator garden at the Library.

A pollinator garden is a type of garden designed with the purpose of growing specific nectar and pollen-producing plants that will attract pollinating insects. In a native pollinator garden, the plants selected provide pollinating insects (a.k.a. pollinators) with particularly high value nectar and pollen. Choosing native plants can help local pollinators such as bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, bats, and more.

Pollinators are responsible for one out of three bites of food we take each day and they are essential for the health of our ecosystems and the health of many of our food crops.
