Connecting Generations is a free community volunteer program that matches senior citizens with student volunteers to learn Internet technology. It is a community partnership between the Effingham Public Library, the Effingham County Senior Center, the local University of Illinois Extension, East Central Illinois Development Corporation, and four area schools (Effingham High School, St. Anthony Schools, and Teutopolis High School).
Connecting Generations™ student volunteers are highly motivated individuals who wish to make a difference by helping area seniors and at the same time fulfill school service hour requirements.
If you are a student that would like to volunteer, please contact your school’s volunteer coordinator.
If you are a senior that would like a tutoring session, please contact the Effingham County Senior Center or your assisted living facility.
