Types of Library Cards

You may print out an application below and return it to the circulation desk on the main floor.

Effingham Public Library is funded by city taxpayers and library cards are available at no charge to Effingham residents. We will need proof of your address or the tax bill for the property within the city limits when you fill out your library card application.

A child may receive his/her own library card with the consent of an adult cardholder.

A nonresident card is available for people who live outside of the Effingham city limits. The fee is $139.00 and allows each each family member living at the residence to receive a card with an expiration a year from the purchase date. This fee is the state mandated average of what taxpayers in the city of Effingham pay toward the library per year on their tax bill.

For those who physically can’t visit the library, the library offers a homebound application that will enable qualifying residents to receive books once a month.
