Effingham Public Library is pleased to welcome core member of The Vault Arts Collective, Tuscola, IL, photographer, Rachel Ray.

Rachel began her adventure in photography just 7 years ago. Inspired by nature and the aging process, Rachel often turns her camera to things and places that most of us would dismiss as trivial. Her photography encourages us to slow down and be transported into places of calm, nostalgia, intrigue and natural beauty.

Rachel was raised in a naturally artistic and musical family. All her immediate relatives have a history of either painting or writing.
Most recently, Rachel’s work has won awards from the Champaign County Camera Club and the photo “Foggy River” was the first place winner of the Effingham Art & Photography Show. Her work “The Last Song” also received the Artist Choice Award at the Effingham Art & Photography Show in April 2016.

Effingham Public Library is pleased to welcome local photographer, Mary Rentfrow-Haag. Having lived and worked in Los Angeles and Chicago, Mary returned to the Effingham area in 2004.

A member of the Effingham Art Guild, Mary began pursing photography while she lived in Los Angeles. An accomplished photographer, she won many awards; however, she notes that the best trophy she ever received “was meeting her late husband, photographer, Victor Haag.”

Mary has since completed her “Photographers Bucket List” and has had a photograph published in an international magazine, has sold several pieces of art and hosted an exhibit of her work.
