Featured Artist: Deanne Donoho

Effingham Public Library is pleased to welcome artist, Deanne Donoho.  Deanne Donoho is a self-taught artist born and raised in Southern Illinois and currently resides in Salem, Illinois.

Deanne has always been a creative person spending her time drawing, sewing, crafting, or playing the piano, singing and writing songs. She didn’t find her love of painting until her early 20’s. Her only formal training was in High School art classes. Since then she has educated herself by reading many books, watching videos, and attending seminars and classes by other artists.

After retiring in 2014 Deanne started an art studio in her home and has devoted her time to her art, striving to learn from other artists and better her craft. She loves all styles of art but describes herself as an impressionistic realist with a preferred medium of oil. Deanne has had pieces accepted in local juried art shows at the Centralia Cultural Center Fall art show and at Cedarhurst in Mt. Vernon, IL. She has won several awards in local art contests and fairs and loves to show her work.

Deanne is inspired by the beauty around her and finds the creative process very fulfilling. She strives to recreate the beauty of the Master Creator.
